In the meantime, you better do some fucking shit with this life. It's damn improbable that exactly you are here now, breathing, thinking, feeling. And why shouldn't you do everything you want, you are the universe, remember? You have the power of a thousand stars in you, and you can do whatever you damn please with it. I wouldn't say that one needs to die to have their body become a part of the universe. We are already a part of the universe as is, both in the literal sense of the phrase (as we reside within it) and in the sense you would normally take it (being one with the universe). We all consist of the same building materials, they're just put together differently.
